Flex Benefit

In addition to your regular Elderplan benefits, you may receive an additional allowance towards your Flex Benefit. Your Flex Benefit provides additional funds to help cover out-of-pocket expenses for hearing, vision, dental, and fitness needs. Depending on your specific plan, you may also have the option to apply your Flex Benefit allowance toward copays for certain services.

These extra funds are in addition to your existing Elderplan benefits and offer you greater flexibility in managing your health-related expenses.

Using Your Flex Benefit

You can use your OTC+Flex Card at any provider that accepts Visa, making it easy to access and utilize your benefits wherever you need them. To maximize your benefits and savings, you should first use your plan benefits and then your OTC+Flex card to cover any additional out-of-pocket expenses you may incur:

  • Dental: After you have used your dental benefit, you can use your Flex benefit to cover any remaining out-of-pocket costs for both in-network and out-of-network providers. Apply it to dental procedures such as implants, dentures, repairs, realignments, extractions, root canals, bridges, crowns, periodontal work, and more.
  • Vision: Make the most of your annual Elderplan vision benefit by choosing an in-network provider. Use your Flex Benefit to pay any remaining balance. You can apply it to items like contact lenses, eyeglasses, progressive and transition lenses, prescription sunglasses, and more.
  • Hearing Services: Optimize your Elderplan hearing aid benefit with an in-network provider, and then use this card for any outstanding balance. You can apply it to hearing aids, batteries, repairs, and more.
  • Fitness: Depending on your plan, you may already have a free gym membership to any gym in the Silver&Fit network. But if you’d like to explore a neighborhood gym or schedule a private training session, you can also use your Flex Benefit to pay for the additional cost.
